The other item I made with oatmeal is edible and made with completely natural ingredients, but you definitely don’t want to eat it.
Why? It’s an oatmeal face mask from EdiblePerspective!
It made my skin feel super soft and smooth, and I’m definitely planning to use it once a week. There is also a whole host of other awesome homemade beauty products on her blog that I would highly recommend trying, like a sugar/coffee scrub and coconut shampoo.
The mask is made with ingredients you already have lying around your house, so there’s no need to go out and buy anything wacky. Its super simple, with just oats, honey, and apple cider vinegar, and you can make it anytime because it’s so fast. And, since the ingredients are all natural, you don’t have to worry about putting all kinds of gross chemicals on your skin. Yay!
This is a great “recipe” to make while you have another delicious baked good in the oven, especially one that takes a long time to bake. Just sit back, relax, and wait for those timers to go off.
Another plus – the pampering is enough to make any girl feel like a spa queen!
Oat and Honey Exfoliant
From the Edible Perspective
2 tablespoons of rolled oats
1 tablespoon of honey
1/2 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
(Eye cucumbers optional 😀 )
Grind the oats in a spice blender until they almost reach the consistency of flour. Mix in the honey and apple cider vinegar with a fork until smooth. Wet your face, then carefully apply a small amount of the scrub. I find it works best to dab on the scrub first, then rub. Make sure you work over a sink and wear a bathrobe – this can get messy! Leave the scrub on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water and moisturize. Look how smooth your skin is!
