Did you all have a nice Thanksgiving?
Mine was filled with cooking, family, food, friends, laughter, food, baking, taking pictures, and more food.
Here’s the bird himself, decked out in aluminum foil for the special day.
I spent the whole day cooking with my mom, aunts, cousins, and uncles.
Everyone got in on the action, from the youngest…
…to the self proclaimed “non-chefs” who did an excellent job with green beans…
…to the brownie baking enthusiasts 🙂
And in the end, we had quite a spread. Turkey, stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, sesame noodles, soup, rolls, Boma rice and my personal favorite, sweet potato casserole.
I could eat that sweet potato casserole for every meal. It’s gingery and creamy with a flaky crust.
Yum yum yum yum yum 🙂
After dinner, we took a break to relax, hang out, and start cleaning. I used the time to finish the Autumn Delight Cake from Sweetapolita. Major Success. It was absolutely delicious with all of it’s yummy fall flavors. My only problem was that the electric mixer broke and there was no way to rewhip the swiss merengue buttercream after it refrigerated, so the texture was a little off. Regardless, it still tasted great!
Overall, this was a really fun Thanksgiving, and I had a great time. I can’t wait for next year!
What did you and your families do to celebrate?
