Hello! I’m Deanna, and welcome to DB and Jelly.

I’m 15 years old (now 16!) and I absolutely love cooking and baking. The kitchen is my place to create, experiment, and play with food for anyone who wants to eat. When you cook, all the flavors, textures, and colors of are up to you, and you have the freedom to explore the kitchen any way you want.
I started baking as soon as my mom let me into the kitchen, quickly graduating from “cooking water” in 6 different bowls to helping make everything from chocolate chip cookies to Thanksgiving dinner. My parents love having kids who can cook (this includes my little brother and sister), because they never know when they’ll walk in and find dinner or dessert sitting on the counter. Seriously, who doesn’t love surprise brownies?
When I’m not in the kitchen, I absolutely love gymnastics! I used to belong to a club team, but now I just compete for my high school team. I still spend most of my non-baking time in the gym working on all kinds of insanely fun flips, jumps, and spins.
I also play the viola in my school orchestra and chamber orchestra, as well as the local youth symphony, and I attempt to sew things in any remaining spare time

Hi, Deanna. I am your mom’s cousin. After emailing her to thank her for the nice New Year card we received, she suggested that I check out your blog, since I also love to cook and bake and have worked in a professional kitchen for many years, now. To say that I am impressed by your blogs and recipes would be an understatement. You have tantalized our palates with delightful creations and great photographs to go along with them. Please keep up the great work and don’t be surprised if I “tap your brain” regarding a recipe. There is always something new to learn.
Wow! Thank you so much! I’m very glad to hear that you like my blog
